We are primarily engaged in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of high performance digital and analog medical imaging systems, sold and serviced globally, through a network of factory-trained and authorized dealers.

Our extensive product portfolio of radiographic components, systems, and accessories are designed to support hospitals, imaging centers, and other healthcare clinics by tailoring systems to accommodate each facility’s specific requirements and budget.

UMG/DEL MEDICAL’s products are designed, manufactured, staged, and tested in our Harrison, NY, and Bloomingdale, IL facilities. Our Customer Assistance team is among the most knowledgeable in the industry and are ready to provide fast, courteous product support.

  • 1929

     

    Universal Vacuum Products is formed in Chicago to serve the growing demand for neon signs

  • Universal Vacuum Products produced many signs like the historic Chicago Theater sign

     

    1934

  • 1953

     

    Universal builds its first x-ray tube using the knowledge gained from manufacturing neon signs

  • The company name is changed from Universal X-ray Products as demand for x-ray tubes eclipses demand for neon signs

    A “Multi-Purpose Master” product line is introduced. This line includes fluoroscopes, x-ray generators and general radiographic equipment

     

    1956

  • 1960

     

    Universal begins to manufacture dental x-ray and industrial x-ray examination systems

  • Universal introduces the “Raymaster,” a general purpose radiographic system and the “Little Giant” generator

     

    1966

  • 1972

     

    Universal introduces “Easymatic,” intended to bring radiography to the private practice

  • Universal becomes a publicly traded company

     

    1976

  • 1982

     

    Universal introduces the “Allied Imaging” product line which includes the Porta-Ray (later known as DynaRad) mobile x-ray

  • UMG is founded in Harrison, NY

    Allied Imaging introduces the microprocessor based “Anatom” x-ray generator, the first anatomically programmed x-ray generator for clinics

     

    1985

  • 1989

     

    Gendex, a dental spinoff of GE, purchases Universal/Allied Imaging to combine the strengths of their high-frequency generators with worldwide distribution

  • Del Global Technologies purchases medical x-ray business from Gendex

     

    1996

  • 1997

     

    Name changed to Del Medical Imaging Corp.

    Del Medical receives ISO9001/EN46001 certification

  • Del Medical manufactures over 400 Picker RadView systems

    Apollo RF introduced at RSNA

  • UMG launches Fuji CR distribution and EvoView PACS sales

  • UMG/DEL MEDICAL acquires Hydra Vision Digital Imaging System (HDIS), a new Urology Solution, formerly manufactured by LF™, Liebel-Flarsheim
